Once upon a time, there was a mother, a friend, an older sister, and a teacher—someone many of you already know. But here, in this cozy corner of the literary world, I go by a new name: Ehmsee Shane. Under this name, I’m someone brave. Someone magical. Someone who believes that stories can shape hearts, build character, and light the path for children, parents, and teachers alike.

My pen name is more than just a playful twist of letters—it’s a tribute.
“Ehmsee” (M.C.) is a little wink to my own name, and “Shane” is in honor of someone incredibly special. My Aunt Shane was more than an aunt—she was my sister in spirit, my teacher in life, and a champion for little learners. She was an early childhood educator who loved her students as if they were her own, and she twirled through life with the grace and flair of—well—a baton twirler, which she quite literally was!
To honor her, my publishing brand nods to her twirling days, capturing her sparkle and movement with every word I write.
The idea of writing a children’s book has danced around in my head for some time— But it wasn’t until I earned my Master’s degree, that I truly believed: I can do this.
Now, with a heart full of lessons from the classroom and a soul full of love for little learners, I’m ready to bring my stories into the world.
