It all started as an idea

Since my last post, life has been… well, let’s call it delightfully chaotic. In the best, most nerve-racking way.

I’ve created and sold posters, officially started my very own LLC (look at me, all grown up and businessy), and received feedback from my editor so kind it brought me to tears. And not the oh no, this is terrible kind of tears—these were the someone-believes-in-me-and-it’s-overwhelming kind.

Of course, the road to publishing isn’t paved entirely with confetti. I still have money to raise, and it’s not easy. You can’t just lean on friends and family forever; you need grit (check), drive (double check), and the courage to be vulnerable (triple check—and maybe a few bonus checks for good measure).

I’ll be honest—there have been tears. Many tears. I’ve spiraled more than once, asking myself: What am I doing wrong? Why aren’t there more donations? Does no one believe in me? And right when I’m in the thick of that mental tornado, my husband reminds me, “It just takes time.” And I take a deep breath… because he’s right.

But here’s the fun news: I just snagged a vendor spot at a local fair at our brewery (cheers to small-town dreams!). I’ll get to chat with people face-to-face about my vision, sell my posters, and maybe even offer some stickers. All because I took the time to reach out to a local business—proof that sometimes the smallest “why not?” moments lead to the biggest opportunities.

So here I am, still trucking along, learning more than I ever imagined, and promising to bring you along for the ride. The journey’s not over— duh.
